Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch With Sway Control For a 2012 Airstream Bambi Sport

Question:

Hello, My tow vehicle is a 2010 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab TRD with factory tow package. The top of the 2 inch receiver is 20 inches. I am trying to find a weight distribution with sway control hitch to pull a 2012 Airstream Bambi Sport. The GVWR is 4500 lbs. The hitch ball height is 17.25 inches. The tongue weight is called out as 393 but I suspect that is not with a loaded trailer. The hitch ball is 2 5/16 inch. It seem that most of the WD hitches I see may be rated for much heavier trailers. My Tacoma owners manual says to fuse a WD hitch for anything over 2000 lbs. Thank You

I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET for your 2012 Airstream Bambi Sport travel trailer. This hitch system is rated for trailers with a GVWR up to 6,000lbs and a tongue weight of 200-600lbs. This will leave you with 207lbs of additional tongue weight over your 393 for gear. With sway control built in it will also help you to keep the trailer pulling straight behind you. The included shank will give you up to 3" of drop which is exactly what you are needing from your 2010 Toyota Tacoma to the Airstream using your measurements.

Since this hitch comes with a 2" ball you will need the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems # EQ91-00-6100 and a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to install it.
