You will need to check the vehicle owner's manual or with your local dealership and find out what the tongue weight capacity is for your vehicle. Or you can check the safety/warning sticker on the hitch. Please keep in mind the hitch weight limit has to accommodate the weight of the hitch cargo carrier itself added to the weight of the loaded cargo.

You need to also consider the clearance you have when you are attaching any carrier to the hitch of your vehicle. The carrier you referenced is no longer available, but the Reese Hitch Cargo Carrier, part # 63155 is comparable.

The Reese carrier weighs 44 lbs, so for example, if your hitch is rated for 200 lbs tongue weight, then when using this Surco carrier you could load up to 156 lbs of cargo without exceeding the hitch rating.

The pin and clip are sold separately. I would recommend the Pin and Clip, part # PC2 for the carrier. If security is a concern, I would recommend the etrailer # e98880 hitch lock. This allows you to lock your hitch mounted racks or carriers to the receiver on your vehicle, deterring theft.

If you carry cargo that would block the taillights, an optional light kit would be required. I would recommend Cargo Carrier Light Kit, part # 20174. This light kit bolts on easily and plugs into the 4-pole trailer connector of your vehicle.

If your E350 does not have trailer wiring, I would recommend the Curt Powered Taillight Converter with Connector, part # C59236. This kit splices into the taillight wiring of your E-class. To help when installing the wiring kit, I would recommend a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993. I have linked you to a circuit testing video.
