If your 2020 Ram 1500 has a 6-1/2' bed I recommend the Custom Underbed Installation Kit for B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWGNRK1319-5W along with the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3400-5W.

This underbed hitch is going to allow you to tow both a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer for the best in versatility. Since it's an underbed mount it's also going to give you a completely clear bed when not in use. The sliding Companion is going to offer you up to 12" of additional turning clearance to prevent the nose of your trailer from coming into contact with the cab of your Ram.

If you have a 5-1/2' bed then you will instead need the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3255 along with the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # BWRVK2604. This is an above bed base rail kit so you won't have a completely clear bed. Due to the length of your bed the only option is a fixed hitch with a rotating pin box. This means that you would also have to replace the pin box on your trailer, but would gain 22" of turning clearance. You will also need the 5th Airborne Custom Wedge for B&W Fifth Wheels # SWW-06 to lock the king pin of the pin box into the jaws of the hitch.

Pin boxes are bolt pattern specific so you will need to know the bolt pattern of your pin box to find the corresponding fit. There should be a label on your pin box which will have serial numbers that we can cross reference for you if you do not know the bolt pattern or you can follow the steps in the attached article below to determine you bolt pattern.

Of the two choices I personally recommend going with a fixed hitch and rotating pin box. It's going to offer you the most clearance and won't require you to exit your truck and switch the hitch back and forth from the maneuvering mode when making tight turns. It's going to require a bit more time upfront to complete both installations but will save you more time in the long run.
