Fifth Wheel Hitch For 2003 Dodge Diesel Dually

Question:

I recently purchased a 2003 Dodge 3500 diesel dually that looks like the bed has had a hitch previously installed. I checked under it and it has the support for the hitch. I checked and the holes from front to back are 22 1/4 inches from centers and 20 1/2 for side to side. Can you tell me which hitches fir this type of system where I will not have to add a kit. Thanks so much.

I have a solution for you.

Looking at your pictures and based off the measurements given that will take a Reese hitch.

You will need the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs # RP30047. Its foot pattern will fit the holes and dimensions you have in your truck bed.

I also suggest getting a lube plate like the Lippert Never Fail Whisper Disk Lube Plate for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 11-1/2" Diameter # LC286160. This lube plate will prevent you from dealing with fifth wheel grease and keep you and your hitch much cleaner. Lube plates last from a season to 8 months depending on use and environmental factors like sand, dust and grit.
