The MaxxAir MaxxFan Mini Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Manual Lift - 4 Speed - White # MA00-04301M is made in China. It has a 2 year limited warranty on the vent assembly and a limited lifetime warranty on the dome

However I do recommend the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat - Manual Lift - 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" # FV802250. This unit is made in the USA. It has a 2 year limited warranty on the vent assembly and a lifetime warranty on the vent dome itself.

The MaxxAir MaxxFan Mini Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Manual Lift - 4 Speed #MA00-04301M that you referenced would not let any light in since the lid is totally solid so for a semi-opaque lid you'd want the smoked version part #MA00-04401M.
