What Grease Seal do I Need for 2.12 Inch Spindle Diameter?

Question:

Greetings, I recently received a great response from Bob C pertaining to the conversion of my mobile home axels on an equipment trailer to conventional 8-lug drums for 7k lb axels. It appears all the parts are for a #42 spindle, which I believe mine is except the greatest diameter of my spindle for the inner seal is 2.12 inches, or 2 1/8 inches and not the 2.25 or 2 1/4 inch diameter I see in the #42 spindle diagram. The old hubs definitely have 2.25 inch seal but im wondering if they were incorrectly installed. I cant find 2.12 inch inside diameter seal that would better fit my spidels. Is it normal to have 2.12 inch inside diameter seals? All other measurements of my spindle match the #42 spindle specs precisely

The only inside diameter seals that have a measurement of 2.12 are 5.2k axles. It is rare that those seals that fit 5.2k axles are installed in your 7k axles. However, it is possible. If you do have a 2.12 inch diameter inner seal measurement, you will need the Grease Seal - Double Lip # GS-2125DL in addition to the following parts:

- 2 sets of the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-SA
- 4 of the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 7K lb E-Z Lube Axle - 12" - 8 on 6-1/2 - 1/2" Studs # 42866UC3-EZ

However, if you need to know what your seal measurements are for sure, you will need to measure them using calipers. I went ahead and attached a spindle diameter diagram to help guide you through the process.
