Routing 4-way Connector To The Outside on a 2005 Toyota Highlander
Question:
A customer of yours wrote - mechanic pointed out that there is a plug in the floor which should be removed to route the wires under the car and out to the bumper Do you know where this plug is located? The video does not show this and hanging the wire from the tailgate does not look like a profesional install.

Once you have the rear carpeting and package tray out of the vehicle you should be able to find a grommet, or black rubbery tape, somewhere under the package tray or around the edge of the rear compartment that is large enough to route the 4-way connector, item # 118248, through and close enough so the connector can reach the hitch. If you do not have an access point in the floor area you may need to route the wire up around the drivers side taillight and back down underneath and outside of the vehicle. This may require removing the taillight. When routing the wiring be sure to keep it clear of hot exhaust areas, sharp edges and moving parts.
