The Hidden Hitch 4-Way Flat to 6-Way Square Wiring Adapter, part # 30104, is intended specifically for Jayco trailers that use the 6-way square type connector. The adapter is wired to transfer tow vehicle lighting signals to the appropriate pins on the 6-way square connector to operate Jayco camper lights.

For connecting your vintage Bethany camper to your tow vehicle with 4-pole flat connector you can fabricate an adapter harness from two parts. You will need to order parts # 37995 and # HM48110. You will also need butt connectors to connect these two parts. You can use item # 05730-5 (please see linked video). We also recommend dielectric grease on all connectors; you can use an item such as #11755

You will splice the 4 wires on the 4-pole connector to 4 of the 6 wires on the 6-pole square connector. (You will only use the vehicle-side half of the Hopkins square connector wiring kit - please see photo provided.) The red and blue wires from the square connector will not be used.

Usually the red wire carries 12V power to your camper and the blue wire carries a brake signal (from a trailer brake controller) to the electric brakes on the camper. If your tow vehicle has a 4-pole flat connector it cannot transmit either of these signals to your trailer, so if you camper has electric brakes they will not operate and there will be no 12V power sent to the camper when connected in this manner.

The remaining 4 wires will splice to the 4 wires from the 4-pole color-for-color using the butt connectors. Lighting functions carried by each wire color (or wire tracer line color) are: Left turn = yellow; Right turn = green; Running light = brown; the white wire is ground.

If you wish to add a trailer brake controller to your set-up you might review the two linked articles.
