Solution for Towing Camper with Square 6-Way Connector

Question:

Hi, I just bought a used pop up camper with a 6 plug rectangle adaptor for the lights. I assume the 6 plug is considered the female it has 5 holes, 1 plug but not sure. My van has the 4 plug hook up. I can’t seem to find an adaptor that works with 4 plug in one end, but a 6 plug maybe the male version on the other end. I’ve seen 4 to 6 plug adaptors, but they are the wrong holes for the 6 plug or a circle, I need a rectangle. Do you have any recommendation?

The square trailer connectors are super unique. There are only a couple manufacturers who made them a while back and they were all different so what we recommend people do in your situation is cut off the 6-way and wire a 4-way in place of with the # HM48110 and you'd have the simplest solution.

To determine the function of each wire on your trailer you could trace the wiring or use a jumper wire from a battery to put voltage on each wire. The functions are labelled on the # HM48110.
