Determining Correct Grease Seal and Dust Cover for Dico 45264 Hub on Boat Trailer
Question:
My boat trailer bearings are shot and need replaced. I have removed the hub and it is a Dico 45264. I have also checked the existing bearings and they are marked L44649 and L68111. Finding the correct bearings seems simple enough but there are 2 rubber seals in a metal collar and I cannot see any markings on them. I also need new caps. Can you let me know what I need to order please?

In order to find the correct grease seal and cap you will need to take some measurements since you cannot see a part number. I recommend using a digital caliper like the # PTW80157 to get accurate measurements.
For the grease seal, you will need to measure the grease seal seat which will give you the inner diameter of the correct grease seal. For the cap, you will need to measure the center of the hub where the grease cap/dust cover fits.
Also, the # L68111 is actually the replacement race for the # L68149 bearing which should be the other bearing you need in addition to the # L44649. You may want to measure this as well just to confirm.
I have attached some images showing where you need to take measurements. I also included some links to our available grease seals and caps.
