Video Transcript for Thule Podium Roof Rack Installation - 2007 Honda CR-V

We are going to install the Thule Podium roof rack. We will show you how to install it and how it looks. The first thing we need to do is remove the cover for the hard point that is already installed on the vehicle. There is a little slot you put your screw driver in and pull it out. There are two studs and we have to clean up the threads to install out adapter parts. It does come with a die that will help you clean up the paint on the threads. You want to run those all of the way down as far as you can and then back it off. You can do that for every stud. We will add two extensions to the studs. Go ahead and install the cover that comes with the fit kit and then put a crossbar on. 0:44

Install the flat washers and nuts to hold everything together. We will snug down the nuts on both sides and then we will go ahead and tighten up the rest of the hardware. And then now we will take the load bar and make sure it is even on both sides. OK, with the load bar in place, we will go ahead and tighten everything down using these two bolts. These bolts will tighten down the fit kit and also the load bar to the foot pack. Now we just have to install our covers. They just slide into place. Just take the latch and twist it and it locks the cover into place. And you can actually replace this with Thules One Key System. We have our front rail done. Let us go ahead and repeat the same process for the back rail. With our second rack installed, now it is ready to add anything you want, like a cargo box. And there you have it for the Thule Podium roof rack on our 2007 Honda CR-V.

The racks came promptly & fit my 2008 Honda CRV perfectly. My only complaint is the installation video failed at the 2:30 MARK EACH TIME I TRIED IT !! ??? But ..... I could read the instructions!

I love the rack. It's fairly easy to get on and off however it is pretty heavy and usually requires 2 people. Overall I think it is a good product.

  • What Fit Kit will Fit My Older Thule Square Crossbars on My 2008 Honda CR-V with Mounting Points?
If you already have the discontinued Podium Platform Feet 460 for the fixed mounting points on your 2008 Honda CR-V, the fit kit you need is the Fit Kit for Thule Podium-Style Roof Rack Feet- 3042 # THKIT30423042. I confirmed with Thule that this is the correct fit kit you need for your older Thule square crossbars.

  • Replacement Parts for Thule Podium Feet on a Roof Rack for a 2007 Honda CR-V
It sounds like you are missing a component out of the fit kit for the 2007 Honda CR-V. The fit kit used is # THKIT3042. The part is not available by itself so you would need the whole kit. The benefit of this is that you will have spare parts should you ever need them.

  • Can I Use the Same Thule Roof Rack on a 2017 Subaru Forester and 2009 Honda CR-V
We do not have a way to add raised side rails on the roof of your 2009 Honda CR-V but I do have a solution for you. From what you told me it sounds like you are using the (discontinued) Thule Square Load Bars THLB50 and the (discontinued) Crossroad Foot Pack 450 on your 2017 Subaru Forester. Your CR-V won't use the same foot pack but you can use the (discontinued) Podium Foot Pack TH460 and the Fit Kit # THKIT3042 on your CR-V and then you will just have to swap the square load bars over...

  • Best Roof Rack Recommendation for a 2009 Honda CR-V
I would recommend the Thule Aeroblade Edge Roof Rack for your 2009 Honda CR-V that has factory fixed points. The Edge racks are through bars like you said you were interested in where the bar does not extend through the feet of the rack and instead has a low profile factory look. You would need part numbers: # TH7602-TH7602, # THKIT3042, and for locks part # TH450400. For the money you can't beat this rack based on the style you are looking for. The Whispbar Rack you also mentioned is...

  • Thule Aeroblade Roof Rack Recommendation for 2007 Toyota Tacoma and 2011 Honda CR-V
Between your two vehicles you could use the same crossbars part # TH711420, but you would have to use the # TH480R for the feet and part # THKIT1511 for the fit kit on the Tacoma and then for the Honda CR-V you would need the part # TH460R and # THKIT3042 instead.

  • Recommended Roof Rack for 2011 Honda CR-V with Factory Fixed Mounting Points
I spoke with my contact at Thule and unfortunately you will not be able to use your Thule Tracker II TK9 foot pack on your 2011 Honda CR-V. This foot pack is no longer available, but it was designed for older model vehicles and will not fit the roof of your CR-V. Since your vehicle features the fixed mounting points on the roof, I recommend taking a look at the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack. This system includes # TH711200 for the two 47 inch WingBar Crossbars in Silver or # TH711220 for...

  • Recommended Roof Rack for 2010 Honda CR-V Compatible with Vintage Thule Roof Mounted Cargo Box
For your 2010 Honda CR-V, in order to get a system that is compatible with your 1988 Thule Combi 600 you will need round or square crossbars. I recommend the new Thule SquareBar # TH712400 crossbars along with the # TH460R foot pack and # THKIT3042 fit kit. This roof rack will give you a crossbar spread of 28 inches with a more traditional appearance. If this will not fit the mounting locations on your carrier, you can simply drill new holes to fit and use Replacement Vinyl Hole Covers...

  • Will 47" Thule Wingbar Evo Crossbars From 2010 Honda CR-V Work On 2021 Honda CR-V
The 47" Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711220 you have will work on a 2021 Honda CR-V, but may be too short causing interference with the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier # TH898 and your vehicle. I recommend going ahead and trying the 47" bars, as you will be able to use them and your Feet # TH460R but you will need a new fit kit. Your 2010 Honda CR-V uses Fit Kit # THKIT3042, and the 2021 Honda CR-V uses Fit Kit # THKIT3166. If you find that you do not have the clearance you need...

  • Compatability of the Thule Roof Mounted Cargo Basket with a 2008 Honda CRV
Yes, the Thule Roof Mounted Cargo Basket, item # TH859XT, will work on the roof rack of your 2008 Honda CRV as long as you have factory crossbars and they are spaced between 20 inches and 37 inches apart. S If you do not have rails or crossbars on your CRV then you can use the Thule Rapid Podium Roof Mounted Foot Pack, item # TH460R, Thule Fit Kit for Podium Style Foot Pack, # 3042, item # THKIT3042, and the Thule SquareBars, item # TH712200, to put a roof rack on your vehicle so that...

If your CR-V has the OEM roof rack with crossbars, the Thule Pulse Medium Cargo box, part # TH614 will indeed fit without hindering your ability to fully open the rear hatch. If you do not have the OEM crossbars, crossbars can be can be installed using the following parts: Thule 47 Inch SquareBars, part # TH712200 Thule Rapid Podium Foot Pack, part # TH460R Vehicle Specific Fit Kit, part # THKIT3042 These crossbars would attach to existing fixed points located along the edge of the roof....

  • Recommended Roof Rack For 2011 Honda CR-V With Fixed Mounting Points
According to the Thule fit guide, the amount of front clearance space needed for the Thule Force XT, part # TH625 so that the rear hatch can fully open is 51-1/8 inches. The front clearance is the measurement from the center of the front crossbar rearward to the seam that is between the roof and the top of the rear hatch. You can measure from the center of the fixed mounting location to see how much room you have. If you find it is less than 51-1/8 inches, the hatch will not open all the...

  • Will the Thule Tracker Feet Work On a 2007 Honda CR-V
The 2007 Honda CR-V uses the Thule Rapid Podium Feet part # TH460R, not the Thule Tracker Feet. There is no way to mount the Thule Tracker Feet on a Honda CR-V. In order to mount the Thule Rapid Podium Feet on a Honda CR-V you also need the Thule Fit Kit for Podium Style Foot Pack part # THKIT3042. The Thule Rapid Podium Feet will then work with any Thule crossbars with channels on the bottom like the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars part # TH711220. It sounds like you might be trying to transfer...

  • Roof Rack and Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier Recommendation for a 2008 Honda CR-V
The front to back roof rack that you are referring to are side rails. The side rails are mounting points for crossbars that are required to attach roof mounted accessories including kayak carriers. If you do not have factory side rails on your 2008 Honda CR-V, then the roof racks that we offer will consist of crossbars that will have feet that mount in the pre-installed fixpoints on your roof and crossbars that will run side to side. Two roof rack systems that I would recommend for...

  • Carrying Cargo on the Roof, Rear Hatch, or Trailer Hitch on a 2011 Honda CR-V
Your best option for the 2011 Honda CR-V is to go with the Pulse L box, # TH615. It is shorter than the Force XL box by 8 inches and will not interfere with the hatch as much (though it is likely) or overhang the front as much. Both boxes will fit the AeroBlade Edge roof rack # TH7602-TH7602. Fit kit # THKIT3042 is also needed to install the rack on your CR-V. As you can see in the video I have linked the antenna did have to come off. However, if the XM antenna on your CR-V does not go...

  • Parts for Thule Fit Kit TK8 for Tracker ll Roof Rack on a 2008 Honda CR-V
The fit kit that would be associated with the Tracker II feet for a Honda CR-V is the TK8 but it only fits up to 2006 Honda CR-Vs and does not include 2008. It may be possible to fit it on a 2008 but it hasn't been tested. Some of the TK8 parts are available including the cover, # 853-5701, foot base # 753-2149, washer # 951-0613-12, and hex key # 853-2430-02. I went ahead and pulled up the online version of the owner's manual for your CR-V and it also lists a matching 165 pound capacity for the roof itself. This just means that even if you were to go with a higher-rated roof rack option, 165 pounds is still going to be the...
