Wheel Capacity of Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" Galvanized Wheel

Question:

Hello, There is a note saying: Bias tire has a ply rating of 6 and a 745-lb maximum load at 90 psi. The 8inch diameter x 3-3/4inch wide steel trailer wheel features a 4 on 4 bolt pattern and a corrosion-resistant galvanized finish. https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Tires-and-Wheels/Kenda/AM30050.html Question: This note is meaning this wheel I can only carry 745-lb max? Please advise. Thank you.

The # AM30050 Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" Galvanized Wheel has a wheel capacity of 910lbs. The tire capacity has a maximum load of 745 lbs at 90 psi as you stated.

You are correct in assuming that this can only carry 745 lbs, but that is just for the individual tire. Since you would have at least 2 on your trailer, the pair would be capable of holding 1,490 lbs since the weight of the trailer will be distributed between the two tires.

I have attached a video review of the tires and wheels for your reference.
