Does 4.80/4.00-8 Trailer Tire Need to be at Max PSI for Lightweight Trailer
Question:
I have a trailer I tow with a motorcycle it weighs less than 400lbs the tires are 4.80 by 8 and the tire says 90psi however it seems that only the center touchs the road even if I it to 60psi. Should I leave at 60, 90 or?

It's not uncommon for trailer users to deflate the tires for lightweight trailers, but when we've spoken with our trailer tire manufacturers, like Kenda with their 4.80/4.00-8 Bias Trailer Tire # AM30050, they've said to stick with the psi rating on the sidewall of the tire.
Some tire manufacturers have charts that show what to put the psi rating at when hauling different loads so if your manufacturer has something like that feel free to follow it, otherwise it's best to go with the rating on the sidewall so you aren't running them at an unknown weight rating.
