I recommend the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L to convert your 4-flat to a 7-way for your Ford Expedition. This will give you everything you need, including extra wire, which you may need because your Expedition is considered a longer vehicle.
Since you will be using a wireless smartphone-controlled brake controller you will not need to run a blue brake output wire. All you'll need to do is provide a 12V power connection to the adapter from the vehicle's battery.
To install and use, all you need to do is plug the 4-pole into the adapter, run one single wire from the adapter's black pigtail to the battery, where you'll connect it to the battery via the included circuit breaker and then ground the white wire. Then pair your phone to the brake controller and plug in the trailer 7-way to the brake controller.
I have attached an installation video for # ETBC7L for you.
