Will Curt Trailer Hitch C11377 Work For Carrying Bike Rack On 2018 Mazda 3 Hatchback?
Question:
Hello, I have a question regarding this trailer hitch: C11377 I have a 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback. Just wondering if the above trailer hitch can be used to mount a bike rack? If so, when ing a bike rack, is it only the receiver size I need to look at, in order to see if the bike rack is compatible with this hitch? Or are there other things I need to look at as well? Thanks for your help!

Yes the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11377 you were looking at for your 2018 Mazda 3 will work just fine carrying a bike rack, as long as the weight of the rack and your bikes combined do not exceed the 200lb tongue weight rating of the hitch.
Since this hitch is a Class I hitch you will need to make sure that your bike rack is rated for a Class I hitch, as not all 1-1/4" receiver bike racks are. Class I hitches all have a tab in them that makes it so certain accessories will not fit to keep you from overloading the hitch.
If you already have the bike rack, just let me know the model and I can tell you if it is rated for use with a Class I hitch.
Personally I would just go with the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7305 instead as it has a standard 2" receiver which will work with quite a few more bike racks due to a 2" receiver being the most popular, and this hitch has a 300lb tongue weight rating instead of 200lbs.
I included a video of the # C11377 for you to take a look at.
