Can Equal-i-zer 1,000 lb Spring Bars Work With 1,400 lb Head Unit

Can my spring bars and shank from a 1000TW hitch be carried over to a 1400TW hitch head without modification.

Expert Reply:
You can re-use your shank, so long as it is rated for 1,400 lbs, but your 1,000 lb Equal-i-zer spring bars are not compatible with the 1,400 lb head unit, which is the Replacement Head for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems - 1,400 lbs TW # EQ90-02-1400.
So what you would need to do is upgrade the spring bars as well to the 1,400 lb capacity bars, which are the Replacement Spring Bars for Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Systems - Qty 2 - 1,400 lbs # EQ90-01-1499.
