Is The B&W Companion Compatible With A Curt Under Bed Goose Neck Hitch

Question:

Traded pickups and left the turnover in my old pickup since the new one had what I thought was the same. I have a 3000 companion. Used in my old pickup with the turnover ball attachment. The new pickup already had a turnover ball so I figured it would swap over. Set ahead of the axle the same. But... The socket size is different. And my socket post doesnt fit. Is there a different post I can buy to make this current turnover hitch work? Pictured is the new truck ball socket post on the left and the companion socket post on the right that I have. Ball is 2 3/4inch and the companion socket post is 3

From what you have in the photo, the one on the left looks like it is for a Curt under bed hitch like Item # C607-604. The B&W Companion like Item # BWRVK3400 uses a square insert so they are not going to be compatible. The reason they do not make a round adapter for the B&W Companion is because it would sheer the pin. The only way you would be able to use your Companion would be to change the under bed kit to a B&W like Item # BWGNRK1012.

The center hole in the bed for the B & W has to be a 44-3/4" from the back edge. You would need to measure the center of the current hole to see if the measurements would be the same. The curt and B & W install different so the holes may not match up. If they do have the same measurement, you will be good there but, your safety chain loops may be in different a different location which would require drilling new ones.

Another way to avoid taking out the Curt hitch is to possibly add a goose neck adapter to your your king pin.
