Can Solera Slide Topper LCV000165061 be Installed on Camper With Awning

Question:

I’m thinking of adding the slider cover over my dinette slide. I was told by the salesman that I cannot because I have a canopy installed on the slide. I just finished installing the solera toppers on the other side of the fifth wheel. It looks like it’s possible to install the topper above the canopy by mounting the brackets on the flange of the slide. The slide measures 12’ 5” and extends out 38”. The channel for the tarp is already on the camper but it extends about 5” beyond the rear of the flange and ends directly over the front edge of the slide flange. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Thank you for the photo, and I reached out to Lippert for you who told me even with an awning already on your slide-out, it was possible to mount a slide topper, which for your 12'5" (149") flange-to-flange measurement is the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning # LCV000165061.

Keep in mind you will need at least 7 inches of clearance on either side, and I can't quite tell from your photo if there would be interference on one side, but if so you would need the next size down, the Solera RV Slide-Out Awning # LCV000177334.

Lippert told me this can install on the T-molding, but in order to do so, the awning rail has to be at least 4-1/2" above the upper edge of the slide. There are also specific instructions for mounting the access plate and bracket to the T-molding, which you can find on page 6 of the instructions, which are linked for you below.
