Will The Yakima BedRock HD Towers Work With The Rhino-Rack Vortex Crossbars For Retrax XR?
Question:
Are the Yakima Bedrock HD towers compatible with the Rhino Vortex bars that come with the Retrax XR series? I bought the Rhino Vortex Retrax XR series but would like to use the bars without the Retrax cover and Rhino towers.

The Yakima BedRock HD Towers for Truck Bed Rails # Y01160 are only compatible with Yakima HD crossbars such as the Yakima HD Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 55" Long # Y01156. These towers will not be compatible with any Rhino-Rack crossbars. The Rhino-Rack Vortex Crossbar System for Retrax XR Series and Mountain Top EVO-M Tonneau Covers # RRVA180B-RRRLT600 is only meant to be installed onto the Retrax XR Tonneau Cover rails, so if you want to use a truck-bed rack without the Retrax cover then you will need to go a different route.
The Yakima BedRock system that I recommend for your 2021 Toyota Tundra with 5-1/2 foot bed is Yakima BedRock HD Truck Bed Rack - Aluminum - 300 lbs - 78" Crossbars # Y01160-59. This will fit regardless if you have the factory deck rail system or not. If you would like a truck bed rack that is raised above the roof to accommodate larger items like kayaks, then you will want to go with Adarac Aluminum Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Aluminum - 500 lbs # A4001665.
