What is the Blue Wire on the Curt C57102 7-way Connector with Backup Alarm Used For

Question:

I bought the Curt Dual-Output Adapter with Backup Alarm 57102. The installation instructions state: Yellow wire - Auxiliary/back-up lights. Blue - Electric Brakes Black - Positive power. The yellow and black are pretty self explanatory. What/where do I connect the blue wire to.

The blue wire on the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter with Backup Alarm - 4-Way to 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # C57102 is designed to be connected to the brake controller in your 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. If your Grand Cherokee didn't come with the factory tow package and you're needing to use a brake controller then you will need run a wire from the blue wire on the back of the 7 way up to the engine compartment and through the firewall into the cab of the vehicle. Once it's run through the firewall, you'll be able to hard wire in a brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. If you need 12 gauge wire, that is available with part # 12-1-1 and is sold by the foot.

If this process is a bit daunting and you don't want to run that wiring then your best bet would be to use a wireless brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180 instead of a wired controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This controller just plugs into the 7 way connector and provides you with proportional braking that is controlled by your Bluetooth enabled smart phone (Android 4.4 or newer/iOS 8.0 or newer required).

I've linked some helpful articles on installation of a brake controller from scratch and troubleshooting that help outline the process a bit more, plus some review videos of these parts that you might be interested in if you still need a brake controller.
