Hitch And Brake Controller Recommendation/Installation on 2021 Honda Odyssey

Question:

I want to outfit a 2021 Honda Odyssey with an etrailer hitch receiver, a Kenosha P3 brake controller, and a 7-pin RV connector. What parts do I need to complete the wiring? I was looking at the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector - 118753 and the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires - ETBC7. Are those the right parts? Anything else needed? Thanks.

Let's begin with the hitch. Instead of the etrailer # e98855 that you'd looked at, I'd recommend going with the Curt # C64NR. The difference between the two is how visible they are once installed. The # e98855 will be fully visible, the # C64NR will have a concealed hitch crossbar with the only visible portion of the hitch being the receiver tube and the safety chain loops. This provides a much better appearance.

You've nailed it with the products needed to add a brake controller. You'll need the Tekonsha P3, part # 90195, either the # 118781 or the # 118753 trailer wiring harness and the # ETBC7 install kit. To determine which of the two wiring harnesses you need, check out the fuse panel in the driver's side wall of the cargo area. Look at fuse location 10,11 and 12. If those fuse locations DO NOT have the metal pins in them to accept a fuse, then you'll need to use the # 118753 harness. If they do, use the # 118781.

You'll also need a ball mount like # 2753 and a # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball.

I've linked to install videos for the hitch I recommended, both wiring harnesses and for the Tekonsha P3 brake controller.
