The bed rails used on the Curt X5 Fifth Wheel Adapter are indeed compatible with Reese standard and sliding hitches. This particular adapter is only compatible with B&W Turnover Ball Gooseneck Hitches using a square shank.

Sounds like you may not have a B and W gooseneck hitch since that brand uses square holes. Could you possibly check under the truck bed to see if you can see a brand? With more info I could see if we have a suitable adapter.
