Installation of Tekonsha Brake Controller on 2016 Lexus GX 460 with Adapter 3040-P

I have a 2016 Lexus GX460 with 7pin connector and full class III hitch installed. Im purchasing a 3600lb travel trailer, and the RV dealer is telling me the vehicles ECU needs to be re-flashedinch by the dealer to use a brake controller. I can find nothing supporting this on the web, and both Tekonsha and etrailer indicate that wiring harness 3040-P is plug-and-play compatible with my vehicle, and all GXs are shipped with a factory connection above the e-brake pedal. Is the RV dealer wrong, or does my Lexus really need to go to the dealer for the brake controller to be functional? The controller Ill be using is a Primus IQ 90160.

You are able to use the # 3040-P to install the Tekonsha Primus IQ # 90160 on your 2016 Lexus GX 460 without any issues. I can't say we've ever heard of anyone ever reporting this back to us and as you mentioned, the vehicle is already set up to be used with a trailer with brakes, so I the vehicle is already set up to be used in this manner.
