Wiring a 2021 Subaru Outback to Use a Wireless Brake Controller

Question:

Hi - I am a real NEWBIE. My wife and I bought a Safari Condo F1743 and just took delivery. We both have duplicate 2021 Subaru Outbacks with factory installed hitches and 4 point plugs. The F1743 came equipped with a Tekonsha Prodigy RF brake controller and Remote handheld unit. We have been getting what I think is bad advice from some RV places, one being to replace the unit with a hard wired unit because the remote is subject to a lot of interference. Another was to ignore the 4 point plug and wire in a whole new complete chassis. Ive been reading and researching, and saw the ETBC7, but now Im going to the pros. Whats your advice on the best way for us to get on the road. Jon

To get both of the 2021 Subaru Outbacks pulling the Safari Condo F1743, you would need to purchase two of the # ETBC7 kits. They would piggy back off of the existing 4 pin connections already on the vehicles, so you are already partially there.

I did include a link below to an install of the # ETBC7 on a 2011 Outback which will end up being almost identical to the install on your 2021 models.
