Trailer 7-Way to Car 4-Way Adapter Plug
Question:
I have a female flat 4 plug in my car, and I just bought a trailer with what I think is a female 7 blade. Can you recommend an adaptor for this arrangement? See pictures.

Yes, I have a solution for you. You can use the Curt # C57672 7-way to 4-way adapter. Your 4-way plugs into the back of it and wiring is included for additional connections. These are usually for trailers that have a 7-way plug but only need lighting. I have included a link to this product, and a link to a video that explains the connections and install. This product would be good for trailers that do not require a 12v charging line or electric trailer brakes.
If you want to pull a trailer with electric trailer brakes you instead need the etrailer Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7 which will additionally provide the connections to your vehicles battery and a brake controller. For the brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha P3 # 90195. I have included a link to this product page plus a link to a demonstration video. If you provide the year/make/model of your vehicle I can see if there is a custom wiring harness for the controller.
