How to Determine Front and Rear Hanger Location on my Tandem Axle Trailer

Expert Reply:

To correctly position your hanger like the Front/Center/Rear Hanger for Double-Eye Springs part # 28-5 you will take the length of your springs that is 25 1/4" plus half the equalizer length. Take the spring plus 1/2 equalizer measurement and add 3/4" to 1". You will use this measurement for the distance between the center bolt hole of the center hanger to the center bolt hole of the front and rear hanger.

For instance the equalizer in the Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers part # AP233 is 5 3/4" long would give us 25 1/4" plus 2 7/8" (half equalizer) then add the 3/4" to 1 " for a total of 25 1/4" + 2 7/8" + 1 for a distance center to center on the bolt holes of 29 1/8".

This will give you the angle you need but will not exceed the 45 degree point/
