Is the Slider B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch Needed for a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 Short Bed
Question:
My truck is a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD 6’9” std bed with Gooseneck/Fifth wheel prep 5 holes in bed. The trailer we ordered is an Artic Wolf 287BH. I would really like to stick with the non-slider BandW BWRVK3710. It seems that my combination may allow this and still get close to 90 degrees. Can you help to confirm if I can use the BWRVK3710?

The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch is an excellent option for a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500. It is available in both a fixed version part # BWRVK3715 and slider version part # BWRVK3775. The general rule of thumb we use is that short bed models will use the slider version and long bed models will use the fixed version. However, if you are okay with the possibility of not being able to make full 90 degree turns then you can use the fixed hitch on a short bed truck. I'd also like to point out that GM with the 2020 models moved the pucks further behind the rear axle to increase turning clearance so more people can get away with a fixed hitch on a short bed.
