Can Double-Eye Springs for 3,500 lb Axle be Mounted on Top of Axle

Question:

Can these leafs be mounted on the top of the axle. Most of the pictures are showing them mounted under the axle. I have basically all the correct measurements listed but they are mounted on the top.

Yes, you can mount the 3-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 23-1/8" Long # e59SR on top of your axle.

I can't quite tell from your photo but you either have an overslung axle or are using an over/under kit, the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00. With either circumstance you can mount these leaf springs on top like in your photo without issue.

The recommended clearance with leaf spring suspension on an unloaded trailer is between 2 - 2-1/2 inches. You should have sufficient clearance with your loaded trailer, as leaf springs only tend to deflect 1-1/2 inch when carrying a load.
