How to Carry Heavy E-Bikes on Back of Trailer

Question:

We have two 55 lb ebikes or under 50 without the batteries. We want to safely put on the front of our RV. Any suggestions?

While there is a way to carry your heavy e-bikes on the rear of a trailer, there is no way to safely carry e-bikes on the front of your trailer because there isn't a method that can handle the 100 lb - 110 lb capacity you need. So what you'll require is a trailer hitch for your trailer and an RV-approved bike rack.

For a trailer hitch, I recommend the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs, 22" to 72" Wide # 13703.

This will work on trailers with a box frame, C-channel frame, or I-beam frame that ranges from 22" to 72" wide (measured from inside-to-inside of the frame). If you have a trailer with a 2" x 2" square bumper you can add a hitch as well, the Curt RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # E-100.

Then, for a bike rack that is approved for use on the back of a trailer and can handle the capacity of your 55 lb e-bikes, the only option is the Swagman E-Spec 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack # S94FR.

I have added links to some video reviews for you to check out as well.
