Frame Mounted Trailer Hitch for Travel Trailer

Question:

I have a 2016 Keystone Outback Travel Trailer. I would like to add a hitch to the RV so I can add a shelf to the back the trailer to hold bikes and a generator. Do you have any hitches that bolt to the frame of the RV?

Expert Reply:

We do indeed offer some hitches that are designed to bolt to the frame of your travel trailer.

If the frame members on your travel trailer are between 18-51 inches apart, the Curt Hitch # C13701 would be an excellent choice, with it's tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs. For frame members between 22-72 inches apart, use the Curt Hitch # 13703, which has a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs.

We do have a variety of hitch receivers that install directly on a bumper. Attached is a link to our selection. Just choose whichever one matches with your bumper dimensions.

I have a 2020 Jayco Jayflight and looking for a hitch to be welded to fram and dropped below the bumper that will not void any warranty and support a 12' enclosed trailer with 2 Harley Davidsons

If neither of the hitches that Mike mentioned above will fit then you can filter through the linked selection to find one that fits your frame width. You'll also need to check the weights of your trailer and bikes to make sure they do't exceed the trailer hitch and that your tow vehicle can handle it as well.
