Alternate Mounting of Ultra-Fab 2" Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver

Question:

The instructions say to mount on top of bumper I was curious if it can be mounted underneath bumper on2019 travel trailer Jayco 28 foot BHBP. I’m only using it for two bikes at the most. Would that put more strain on the bumper.

I contacted the Tech Rep at Ultra Fab Products, they stated that it can be mounted underneath but they do recommend it on top. The Ultra-Fab 2" Motor Home Trailer Hitch Receiver, # UF35-946401 is designed, tested and weight rated for an installation of weight setting above the bumper not below. Any alternate installation of product is determined by the purchaser with that understanding. They added that if you are going to be installing a bike rack on the hitch, be sure to pay very close attention to the installation instructions and not to overload the hitch.
