Will Curt 7-Way Trailer Connector for 2019 Ford F-150 Charge a Trailer Battery

Question:

Thank you. How would I know if it has a 12v circuit supplying power to the trailer? I didn’t see anything about adding a 12v circuit with install instructions.

The Curt harness you purchased (thanks by the way) part # C56413 is a fully functioning 7-way connector after you install it so it has a 12 volt circuit supplying power to your trailer's battery.

With that being said you won't be able to charge up your trailer battery if it dies from the truck because there just isn't enough amperage. It's meant to maintain the trailer's battery while traveling to keep the battery from dying.

To charge a trailer battery you need something like part # CTEK56353.

The Curt harness plugs into the truck's factory connector which supplies all of the 7-way's functions. A 7-way has a 12-volt power pin at the 1 O'clock pin when you're looking into it as shown in the attached picture. If for some reason you don't think your truck's connector has a hot 12 volt test the 1 O'clock pin using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 for power. Make sure the truck is running because some trucks won't supply with it off.
