Installation

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side rear bumper. After plugging in the connector, route the 7-way end of the harness along the inside of your bumper toward the center of your vehicle.

Once installation is complete, the 7-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 7-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

This harness has served us pretty good. The only issue we have had is our left back up light doesn’t work.

Etrailer is just awesome my package got shipped somewhere else an it just sat there etrailer made it right. You guys rock

by:

The harness connector quality was exceptional. Easy installation. Great service as well.

Very straight forward. Less than 5 minutes to install. Love that it is a direct plug in to the factory harness.

Awsome!

2019 Ford F-150

Easy and clean installation!

by:

I installed the 7 pin trailer connector socket in the bumper where the factory socket goes. The wiring harness was quick to install and went together well. I used the included zip ties to secure the extra wiring up and it all looks great and works well.

by:
2019 Ford F-150

Fairly easy to install, watch the videos for help. I installed mine in the bumper where the factory plug would have been. Looks clean and there is a bracket you can bolt to behind the plastic. Had to drop the spare so if you are also installing a hitch be sure to have it all ready so you do not have to drop it twice.

This works perfect on a 2019 Ford F150… I was able to determine that the wiring harness on my truck would except this plug and still let me utilize the four way… Make sure to look at the harness at the rear of the vehicle before you order anything universal… This saved me a lot of time… The hardest part was installing the bracket for the seven way.

2019 Ford F-150

Perfect fit for my 2019 Ford F-150 XLT. It fits like a glove and feels as sturdy as can be. I will always buy hitches from etrailer & Curt.

by:
2015 Ford F-150

The hitch fit perfectly. It was definitely worthwhile to watch the videos on the installation, as that was hugely helpful.

Really pleased with the quality and finish of the hitch, even though it tucks up perfectly and you cannot really see it.

The price was very reasonable and the hitch arrived in only a couple of days. I did choose to install the 7-way Trailer Connector into the bumper cover, as there is a hole behind the plastic already for the factory connection, as you can see in the pictures. A 2 inch hole saw made quick work of that part.

The T-Connector wiring harness was awesome. This was definitely plug in and ready to go just like the video.

In general, great price and product support. Thank You

by:

No instructions in the package but really none needed. The video associated with this item was spot on. It was a very simple unplug and plug in part. I do wish they would have provided 4 screws to attach the block to my truck. That’s the only thing that they could improve on.

by:

The website was very easy to navigate, the ordering process was very easy, and the delivery was on time. I will definitely use etrailer for all me needs applicable to my needs in the future.

by:

Wow! This is a great product! Its plug and play with the right parts. I suggest calling and speaking to someone before ordering this harness because the bracket for the seven pin plug is not included and the one I ordered didn't have the hardware holes in the right place requiring me to spend considerable time reworking it to fit (customer was waiting in the lobby!). If the harness had come with the right bracket, it would have taken 15 minutes to install. Unless you have tiny arms, you must lower the spare and then drill one hole for a ground wire (screw included). Overall, I still rate it as a 5 star because it is a great part and Mariah A. did and EXCELLENT job of getting it to me on short notice. I suggest etrailer.com recommend the correct bracket that fits that plug on the page for this harness.

I recommend the Pollak Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware PK12711U when a mounting bracket is needed with a 7-Way connector because this mounting bracket has slotted holes for installation, allowing for more wiggle room with the size of the 7-way mounting holes.

2012 Chevrolet Volt

Extremely easy to set up with my trailer brakes and camper 12 volt system.
I would recommend this to anyone who needs to add electric braking system.

Saved a lot of money and was very easy to install

2018 Ford F-150

My F150 did not come with the tow package. This was the perfect harness. I watched the video and followed the directions exactly. Worked perfect. Didn't need to lower the spare or put on jacks. Just hosed off underneath the day before so I had a semi clean area to work in.

Bracket screws are rusty. I’ll replace with stainless steel.

by:

Wow. Great customer service. This wiring kit has been installed for a whole year. No issues at all, is stilll tucked away nicely. I even got a flat and had to drop my spare tire, wiring harness was not an issue and was not in the way, sat nicely tucked away.

by:

Excellent service quality products good communication well done

Thanks for recommending this part. I did need it. Everything works great. It was a great trailering week.
We were happy campers!

2020 Ford F-150

This was a very easy installation just like it says plug and play. I used a 2" hole saw and mounted it on bumper where factory one would have been installed instead of using mounting bracket I purchased with it. It Looks great and took maybe a half hour to install. Very good quality.

by:

The order arrived quickly and exactly as ordered. However, the bracket I. ordered did not have holes that matched the trailer cable connector requiring me to drill for correct fitting. I did have a technical issue which I was helped with by Ricky. He was helpful in trying to solve this problem.

2018 Ford F-150

I have a 2018 Ford F150 XLT no tow package: This harness was easy to connect and setup. In testing the terminals with a meter: I spent a lot of time checking fuses and cabling to the 7pin... The 4pin was active and working. Finally I unplugged the 4pin in troubleshooting, and the 7pin was alive- including voltage at the brake. I was under the impression that the 4 pole would still work depending which was hooked up- with signals going to both. Maybe since I have not connected to a 7pin trailer yet?

by:

this harness has worked well - easy to install etc... HOWEVER - it does not include the bracket for a new install. Not ideal.

by:

The kit fits perfect. Had no issues hooking it up very simple.

  • 10K Trailer Hitch and 7-Way Wiring Needed for a 2017 Ford F-150
The only trailer hitch that is rated for 10K right out of the box for your 2017 Ford F-150 is the Curt # C26HR. All of the other options require a weight distribution system to achieve this weight rating. What I would do is try bypassing the tee connection on the Curt T-Connector # C56413. If you plug everything back up how it was before you installed this kit then you can test the 7-Way at the back of your 2018 Ford F-150 to see if everything is functioning properly again.
