Hitch and Adjustable Ball Mount for 2016 Acura MDX
Question:
I want to be able to tow both a 13 foot and 16 foot camper trailer. The specifications are for the ball hitch height to be 18 inches and 21 inches. I have an Acura MDX and am planning to purchase Item # e98840 for the hitch receiver. Im an unsure which ball mount to get. Would something like Item # D900 be ideal to give me adjustments? Or would Item # C45310 be better. Is there any concern with ground clearance with the adjustable hitches?

Expert Reply:
When we installed the etrailer hitch part # e98840 on a 2016 Acura MDX like yours we found there was a distance of 14-1/4 inches from the ground to the top of the hitch opening. So using the two dimension you mentioned you'd need a rise of 4 inches and 7 inches for your two trailers. The Curt adjustable ball mount # D900 would be a great choice to give you all ball sizes and the rise you'd need. Since you'd always have it in the rise position there would be no ground clearance issues.
