Can Curt Friction Sway Control be Used without Also Installing Weight Distribution System
Question:
Can this be used without a weight distribution hitch or does it have to be installed with one? I have an older trailer, 2600 gvwr, 1988 Xl 1260 which states in the manual not use a wdh with it. My 2002 Toyota Sequoia states sway control is required for any trailer over 2000lbs. I have converted the surge brake system to electric and changed to a standard coupler. Can I run this sway control without adding a wdh?

Helpful Expert Reply:
You can use friction sway control like the Curt kit part # 17200 without a weight distribution system. It's probably more common that people use these kits without weight distribution so this would be perfectly fine.
