Can High Rise Hitch Ball Be Used with Friction Sway Control Unit

Question:

I read your answer regarding there being a 1inch between the hitch ball and sway control ball levels indicating that this should not effect the effectiveness of the sway control. My question is will a larger , maybe 2, have any negative effect on the sway control. I am attaching a photo of the drawbar. I need the rise on the hitch ball to assure that the trailer is level. We are about to leave for Thank you

That hitch ball you have has quite a bit of rise built into it. That's by far the tallest one I have seen.

As long as you can mount the # 17200 on your trailer so that it is level your tall hitch ball would be fine. This may require you to mount the mounting plate of the unit lower on the trailer frame if available.

Otherwise you would have to use a ball mount that has the drop you need and go with a standard hitch ball.
