Replacement Bearing, Races, and Seals for a Trailer with L44649 Inner and Outer Bearings

I am replacing and repacking bearings and seals on a 1986 Load Rite smalll boat trailer. The bearings are L44649s both inner and outer. The grease seals are very confusing though! The current seal markings are NOK and 46 / 50 I believe thats the numbers. What seals, bearings and races do I need for this job? Your help would be greatly appreciated!

I can make it very easy for you. Since you have L44649 inner and outer bearings, you can use bearing kit # BK1-150. You will get both bearings, a double lip seal, a washer and cotter pin.

The seal in this kit is a 10-60 double lips seal like # RG06-020. It has an inner diameter of 1.500 inches and an outer diameter of 1,987 inches.

For L44649 bearings, the matching race is # L44610.

Most likely all you have to do is replace the seal, but to be safe you'd want to pull the hub off and inspect the bearings to make sure everything looks good. It's one of those things where you're already right there so you may as well…

The Bearing Buddy you would want would be the #BB1980A-SS or #BB1980A since you have bearings of L44649 inner and outer.

The double lip will provide a better seal, so I'd give it a shot. You will want the Double Lip Grease Seal - ID 1.249" / OD 1.983" - Qty 1 #34823 for the measurement you gave.
