Choosing Between the 1,000 Lb and 1,500 Lb SumoSprings for a 2019 Ford F-150 4x4

Question:

Have a 2019 Ford F-150 4x4 Max Tow and going to purchase an Airstream 25foot trailer. The hitch weight is advertised at ~850lbs. Will also have a weight distribution hitch. Is it better to get close to the actual hitch weight or have a bit extra? … Will the unloaded ride suffer very much with the extra capability? Note: being an Airstream I will have to carry more in the truck bed Thanks

I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SSR-117-47 instead of part # SSR-117-40 for your 2019 Ford F-150. In regards to the SumoSprings, you will always want to have a safety margin and the above will be perfect for your setup. The springs have a progressive load rate so the 1,500 model with 850+ lbs will have a smoother ride than the 1,000 lb model with 850+ lbs.

In regards to unloaded ride quality, there should be no affect on this for the exception of going over large bumps.

I have a Ford F-150 colt and I haul a golf cart sometimes, which model do you recommend for me? Thanks!

With an occasional (but not constant) heavy load like a golf cart, I think the best setup is an air bag system that you can adjust as needed. This will ensure a smooth, level ride regardless of what you're hauling. For your 19 F-150 the Firestone Ride-Rite # F2582 will work perfectly.
