What are the Differences Between the Curt and EcoHitch on my 2020 Subaru Outback
Question:
Can you tell me what the difference is in the two hitches for my 2020 Subaru Outback?

These two hitches are almost identical especially in the way they look when on the vehicle and the way they are installed. The biggest difference is the weight ratings (Curt is higher) and in the material they are made of.
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" part # C67JR has a maximum gross trailer weight of 4,000 lbs maximum tongue weight of 600 lbs. It is constructed of steel with a black powder coat finish.
The EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" part # EH34FR Has a maximum gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 525 lbs. It is constructed using a recycled alloy of steel, aluminum and stainless steel leaving a smaller carbon footprint on the environment.
Of the two I like the etrailer. Its higher weight ratings mean it is slightly stiffer and less susceptible to twisting when loaded down with goodies. Both hitches are rated above what the Outback is so don't exceed your vehicle's weight ratings.
If you'll be towing you will want to have wiring as well for that the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # C56040 is a great choice. It will install with no modifications being made to the vehicle and connects to an already existing plug in the rear hatch area of your Outback. We also have a nice ball mount kit available with several different rise and drop options it is part # 989900
