Cant the part screwed into the tail gate itself be removed?

The blind nut you're speaking of that's used to install the DeeZee # DZ43301 tailgate assist works like a molly bolt. The portion of the bolt inside the tailgate mushrooms out, preventing the nut from pulling through. If it needs to be removed, it can be drilled out with a 7/16 inch drill bit.

I believe you are asking about ordering the nutsert and replacement tool for the DeeZee Tailgate Assist #DZ43301. The only way to get that is with the #BKT43301 that you referenced.

I went and grabbed the nutsert of the #DZ43301 to measure it and it is .16 of an inch in diameter.

Seal 171255UC has an inner diameter of 1.719 inches and outer diameter of 2.565 inches. A seal that has those dimensions would actually be #58846. I've added a link to a video review of this seal for you to take a look at.
