To flat tow the 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk you will need a base plate, tow bar, tow bar wiring, supplemental braking system, safety cables and possibly a high low adapter.
For the base plate, I recommend Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit part # RM-521451-5 because of its direct connect brackets that eliminate the need for a quick-disconnect tow bar. The built-in rings allows you to unlock the arms and remove them for a discreet look.
I recommend Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar part # RM-522 which is a non-binding tow bar that allows you to hook up the Cherokee and unhook on unlevel terrain without binding because of its freedom latch. The freedom latch allows you to release the tension that builds up while flat towing to quickly disconnect the tow bar. For the safety cables I recommend RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables part # RM-643.
The best tow bar wiring is the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit part # RM-15267 because it will give you a 6-way plug on the front of the Jeep with a coiled cord that connects it to the 7-Way on the back of the motor home for a nice clean looking install. This will allow the towed vehicle lights to illuminate when the motor home's lights activate.
Almost all states require a supplemental braking system to allow the towed vehicle's brakes to activate when the motor home brakes. I recommend Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional part # SM99251 because once it's installed it requires very little maintenance. It features an air actuating cylinder that depresses the brake pedal in the vehicle when the motor home brakes that can remain in the vehicle even while being driven. The other recurring setup brake box setups that sit in the floor board of the vehicle need to be removed each time you are ready to drive the vehicle which can become inconvenient.
If your motor home happens to have air brakes you will need Demco Air Force One Supplemental braking system for motor homes part # SM99243 which is the same setup but for air brakes.
Finally you may need a high low adapter to tow the vehicle level with the motor home. In order to know how much rise or drop it will require to tow level some measuring is required. I have attached a helpful article that helps you figure out which high low adapter may be needed and our selection of high low adapters.
