Question:
Need a trailer hitch for towing a small trailer with my 2020 Outlander (not the PHEV). What do I need to do this?

For towing a trailer with your 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander I recommend using the Curt # C13163 which is a confirmed fit for your 2020 Outlander. This gives you a really clean look when everything is installed. I have attached an installation video and some photos of this trailer hitch on a 2019 Outlander that you can check out.
You also need a wiring kit to provide power to your trailer lights. I recommend the T-One # 118482 because it is the most reliable option we carry. This kit tees in behind your tail lights and then draws power directly from the battery so that the OEM wiring on your Outlander won't be affected if anything were to happen on your trailer end of things.
To complete a towing setup you also need a ball mount kit. I recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900 because it includes two ball mounts, one with a 3/4” rise/2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise/4” drop, a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip. You will want to refer to the attached ball mount article to ensure that this kit is correct for your towing application.
