How to Connect Brake Light Function for Curt T-Connector for 2019 Toyota Prius
Question:
So I took my kit to u-haul and they do not know how to wire for the trailer breaks. Everything else is working just find blinkers and car brakes but not the trailer brakes. Any help that I can pass on to them to get this fixed. We bought the wiring kit recommended for the 2019 Prius. Thanks

The Curt T-Connector # C56353 for your 2019 Toyota Prius has the stop lights on the red wire which shares connectors with the brown (running/trail light) wire. If you jump to the 5:45 mark in the attached install video and/or jump to step 11 in the attached install instructions you can see how this tee is installed.
Once this tee is installed on your Prius then you should have brake light wiring for your trailer. You can verify this by testing the different pins on the 4-Way with a circuit tester like part # PTW2979. I have attached a diagram that shows what the functions the different pins carry.
If you are talking about actual trailer brakes and not just the trailer brake lights then that is a bit of a different story that would require you to install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 as the Curt T-Connector only carries trailer light functions. If this is what you are needing then I am attaching a sample install video and the written instructions for you to check out.
