Recommended Ball Mount for a Mercury Mountaineer With 1-1/4 Inch Factory Hitch
Question:
Hello, I have a class 2 hitch that is 1 1/4, I need a 10 drop but having a difficult time in finding one. The Brophy drawbar is the closes I could find but it only has a 6 drop. Do you do any custom orders? Thanks,

I do have an option for you but I think we first need to verify that we are indeed looking for the correct rise/drop amount in a ball mount. In order to verify that we have the correct rise/drop needs we first need to measure from the ground to the top inside edge of the receiver tube on the trailer hitch and then subtract from this the distance from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on the trailer while level. The above calculations will then give us the correct rise/drop we need to look for in a ball mount.
The Brophy Drawbar part # BM96 as you mentioned is the ball mount that offers the most amount of drop for a 1-1/4" opening, 6". I have attached a list of other options for you. If you need more than this then you might want to consider getting a new trailer hitch with larger opening that sits closer to the ground so you will not need such a large drop, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13112. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver is a fit for your 2010 Mercury Mountaineer and it installs beneath the factory trailer hitch.
