There is a trailer hitch that is confirmed to fit your 2009 Ford Edge, the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98870, which fits both Sport and non-Sport models of '09 Edge (the hitch part 87492 you referenced is only a fit for certain model year Dodge vans).
You are correct that no welding is needed to install Trailer Hitch # e98870 and the installation hardware does come included with the hitch; additionally, I have added a link to the installation instructions and an installation video for you to check out to help guide you during the installation.
If you plan on pulling a small trailer and need wiring to power the lights the harness that is confirmed to fit is the Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118551.
