Recommended 205/75-14 Tires for Off-Road Trailer

Question:

So far our tires have done us a great job in the rugged offroads and mountains here in idaho, however we are gonna need a set of 4 tires next, however we arent quite sure what we could get that are great for offroad and rough roads. our trailer is a tandem axle and dry weight is 3400 with loaded weight at 4600. We are getting ready to put a lift on our trailer as well with your advise and guidance in our last question. Coming to you again as you guys are awesome and have helped us out with everything weve asked. we currently have ST205/75R14 and they are a 5 bolt pattern.

The tires you have on your trailer now have a radial ply construction which is great for long highway hauls but if you plan to go off-roading then you are going to want to switch to a bias ply construction which will still wok just fine on the highway but it has a stiffer sidewall that will be needed for going over bumps off-road.

I recommend the ST205/75D14 Bias Trailer Tire part # AM1ST86 which is an excellent option that has an aggressive tread pattern for better traction off-road. That said, the tread pattern is not overly aggressive which would cause issues while pulling on the highway.
