I looked up for camper tie downs and these showed up so not sure if it will fit my truck.

The Brophy Camper Tie Downs part # TDSF that you referenced are a fit for your 1988 Ford Ranger and will work well. We had a customer with a similar Ranger use these and they told us they worked great afterwards.

The hardware kit you'd also need to attach these to your camper is the # TDHP.

I reached out to Torklift and they have never had a fit for a Toyota Tacoma because their hitches are for capacities greater than that size truck can handle. This means that the camper tie downs compatible with their hitch will not work for you due…

Looks like the only option we have for your 2017 Toyota Tacoma would be for you to remove your step boards and go with the front Torklift tie down part #TLT2303 and then for the rear #TLT3307.
