Installing ETBC7 Kit On 2004 Toyota Tacoma TRD V6

Have a 2004 Toyota Tacoma TRD V6 with factory flat plug wire harness and need to add a 7 plug for different trailer. 1 Does your harness require any spicing ? 2. Does it eliminate my flat plug and bracket? 3. What is the estimated installation time?

Hey Tom, the # ETBC7 kit is exactly what you will need to install a 7-way on your 2004 Toyota Tacoma TRD V6 with the factory 4-flat plug. Here are the answers to your questions:
1. Yes. The kit includes quick splice connectors which make this easy. I have linked the install instructions, as well as I diagram for your reference.
2. Yes. The kit will include its own bracket that will hold both the 7-way, and 4-flat plugs. See the picture below.
3. Install time is probably 2-4 hours depending on your skill level. If you are familiar with wiring maybe a bit less. If you have done brake controller wiring before even less than that. Check out the install video below and see what you think. This is on a 2009 Tacoma, but the process swill be very similar.
