Fuse for Curt Harness C56331 On a 2013 Town and Country Keeps Blowing

Question:

2013 Chrysler town and country I have used this for 2 years with no problem. Connected it to my trailer and the lights do not work. I discoverd the the 10amp fuse was blown. I replaced it while connected to the trailer and it blew again. Suggestions on the cause of this and how to trouble shoot the problem. Second question is the installation video states 15amp fuse but the kit comes with 10 amp fuse. Which one should be installed?

The cause of your blown fuse is most likely a wiring issue. The power wire that leads from the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56331 to the vehicle's battery will need to be inspected. If you like, you can just replace this wire with part # 10-1-1. This would be the main cause of the in-line fuse blowing but it could also be attributed to a short on another circuit as well so it will be best to check all of the wiring that relates to the trailer lights on both the vehicle and trailer just to be sure. The ground for the wiring harness would also be good to look over.

If you still cannot find a short then the converter box itself may need replaced but you would need the entire harness to do this. The correct size fuse to use inline with the vehicle's battery is 10 amps.
