Mounting a Hand Winch on the Front Cargo Rack of a Yamaha Grizzly ATV with a 5 ft Moose Snow Blade

I wish to replace my burnt out Warn Winch with a hand crank to lift the 5-ft Moose Snow Blade. I suggest mounting the hand crank, inexpensive winch on the the front cargo rack but am concerned that this mount will not allow the crank handle to rotate 360-degress? Nor can it pull the blade vertically 12-inches? Please advise.

I would recommend using a ratchet crank hand winch like the Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch, part # DL16003. This would allow you to mount the winch to your front cargo rack and not worry about the full 360 degree rotation. This will also give you the lift you need for your blade and includes a 12 ft strap already installed.

We also offer standard winches with ratcheting replacement handles like the B Series Dutton-Lainson Heavy Duty Brake Winch, part # DL10770, with B Series Ratcheting Replacement Handle, part # DL70346.

We also carry the standard winch DLB Series Brake Winch, part # DL14934, with DLB Series Ratcheting Replacement Handle, part # DL70347. These two standard winches are rated at a higher weight capacity and give you more options if you planned on using the winch for anything heavier than your blade.
